About Goodo

What is Goodo?

Goodo is an Australian short-form video community for the NDIS. People who use the NDIS, their carers and nominees, and verified providers share short videos, join groups, find events and ask questions. Every account has a verified identity and a verified role.

Is Goodo run by the NDIS or the NDIA?

No. Goodo is independent. It is not affiliated with, run by or endorsed by the NDIA or the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, and it does not use the NDIS logo.

Who can join?

You must be 16 or older. Participants, nominees, carers and family members can join, and so can plan managers, support coordinators, support workers, sole traders, provider staff and allied health professionals who can show they hold the role.

Does it cost anything?

Goodo is designed to be free for participants and carers, with no ads. We do not take referral fees from providers, and paid promotion is always labelled.

When can I get the app?

Goodo is in development with a co-design group of participants, carers and providers. App store links will appear here when the app is released. Get in touch if you would like to hear first or help test it.

Is Goodo an NDIS provider?

No. Goodo does not deliver supports, make bookings or take payments, and it does not give professional, legal, medical or financial advice.

Verification and badges

What does a Goodo badge mean?

A badge says what Goodo checked, and on what date. For example, a Verified plan manager badge means Goodo checked the person's identity, matched their organisation to the NDIS Provider Register and confirmed it holds registration group 0127. A badge is not a recommendation, a quality rating or a guarantee.

Why does Goodo check identity and roles?

Because trust matters when people talk about disability, funding and services. Verification means you know people are who they say they are, and that providers have shown they hold the role they claim.

Does Goodo keep my ID?

No. An identity company checks your ID through the Australian Document Verification Service and tells us pass or fail, a reference number and that you are 16 or over. We do not keep your identity documents or your date of birth.

What happens to documents I upload for verification?

Evidence files such as a plan cover page, screening clearance or insurance certificate go to a private area that only you and authorised Goodo reviewers can open. We delete the file 30 days after a decision, and keep only the outcome, reference number, dates and a cryptographic hash.

What if my badge expires?

You keep your account and your videos stay up, but you cannot post new videos, create groups or events, or take part in role-restricted spaces until you renew. We remind you before a credential expires.

Can I appeal a rejection or a revoked badge?

Yes. You can appeal within 7 days, and a different reviewer looks again. You can also resubmit with better evidence at any time.

Privacy and safety

Can providers message me without my say-so?

No. You write first. A provider cannot start a private chat with a participant. You can close a chat or block someone at any time.

Does Goodo use my exact location?

No. Location is off until you turn it on. If you do, you enter a postcode only, and we never use GPS. Other people see a distance range such as 2 to 5 km. Providers cannot search for participants near them.

Does Goodo show ads or sell my information?

No. Goodo does not show ads and does not sell your information.

How do I report something?

Tap the menu on any video, comment, message, person, group or event, then tap Report. Reporting takes two taps to start. We aim to look at self-harm reports within 1 hour, exploitation reports within 4 hours and all other reports within 24 hours.

Who can read my private messages?

Goodo staff do not browse private messages. They can be read only if they have been reported or flagged by our safety system.

Accessibility

Are videos captioned?

Yes. Every video must have captions before it can be published. We generate them automatically and the person posting can check and edit them.

How accessible is Goodo?

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA across the app and this website. Goodo is in development and has not yet had an independent accessibility audit. Read our accessibility page for what is built, what is not, and how to tell us about problems.

For providers

How do providers get a badge?

Choose your role, verify your identity, then add what your role needs, such as your organisation, ABN, worker screening clearance, orientation module, insurance or AHPRA registration. Automatic checks take minutes. We aim to review documents within 3 business days, but that is a target and not a promise.

Can providers pay Goodo for a badge or a referral?

No. Paying Goodo does not affect a verification decision, and Goodo does not take referral fees. See our Conflict of Interest Statement.
