Goodo

How it works

From sign-up to your first video

Goodo asks people to show who they are before they can post. Here is what that looks like, and what happens afterwards.

Getting verified

  1. Step 1

Sign up with your email or mobile number and enter the code we send you. You must be 16 or older and you agree to the Community Guidelines.

  2. Step 2

    Check your identity

An identity company checks a government ID with the Australian Document Verification Service. It takes a few minutes and also confirms you are 16 or over. We keep the pass or fail result and a reference number. We never keep your ID or your date of birth.

  3. Step 3

    Choose your role

Pick the role that is true for you: participant, nominee, carer or family member, plan manager, support coordinator, support worker, sole trader, provider staff or allied health professional.

  4. Step 4

    Add what your role needs

Participants and carers may add plan evidence or be vouched for. Providers add organisation, ABN, screening, orientation, insurance or AHPRA details, depending on role. The app shows exactly what is done and what is missing.

  5. Step 5

    We check

Identity, ABN, NDIS Provider Register and AHPRA checks are automatic and take minutes. Documents are reviewed by a trained person. We aim to review them within 3 business days, but that is a target and not a promise.

  6. Step 6

    Get your badge

When the requirements for a badge are met, it appears on your profile with the date we checked. Tap any badge to see what it covers. You can then post, join groups and take part in role-restricted spaces.

What happens to your documents

  • Files go to a private area. Only you and authorised Goodo reviewers can open them, through short-lived links, and every view is logged.
  • After a decision we delete the file 30 days later. That covers the 7 day appeal window.
  • We keep the outcome, reference number, issuer, dates, the reviewer's name and a cryptographic hash of the file, so we can show what was reviewed without keeping it.
  • A reviewer never reviews their own application, or the application of someone they know personally.

Keeping a badge

  • Every credential has an expiry date. We check expiries every day, and a lapsed badge is taken off straight away.
  • You keep your account and your published videos. You cannot post new videos or join role-restricted spaces until you renew.
  • The NDIS Provider Register is refreshed monthly, so provider badges follow changes in registration.
  • You can appeal a rejection or a revoked badge within 7 days.

Using Goodo

Videos

Short vertical videos with mandatory captions. The person posting can edit captions and add a description of what is on screen. Videos are scanned before they are published, and flagged videos wait for a person.

Messages

You write first. A provider cannot start a chat with a participant. Close a chat, start it again later, or block someone. Staff cannot browse messages. They can read one only if it was reported or flagged.

Groups and events

Participants, carers and nominees with a badge can start groups. Events belong to groups and show access information such as step-free entry, an accessible toilet, Auslan and quiet spaces. The exact address is shown after you say you are going.

Near me (optional)

Location is off until you turn it on. You enter a postcode only. Other people see a distance range, never your exact location, and providers cannot search for participants near them.

Report and block

Report anything in two taps. Block from any profile or message. We read every report, and we aim to respond quickly to urgent ones.

Your data

No ads, and we do not sell your information. You can delete your account any time in Settings. Some safety records are kept for longer where the law requires it.

Not an NDIS provider

Goodo does not deliver supports, make bookings or take payments, and it does not give professional, legal, medical or financial advice.

Goodo is independent

Goodo is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, run by or endorsed by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) or the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.

Join a community where everyone is verified

Goodo is for people who use the NDIS, the people who care for them, and the providers who support them. It is free for participants and carers.
